As we celebrate International Women’s Day, The following story from a parking automation project in Kochi we are sharing.
The Parking Automation Project
We were working on a parking automation project for an apartment complex in Kochi, where two guards were stationed at the entrance. One guard was making inappropriate comments about the residents passing by, including a hurtful remark about an obese young man’s likelihood of not having children due to his weight and eating habits.
The Second Guard’s Revelation
However the second guard revealed to us in confidence that the first guard was a ‘loafer,’ and that his wife had taken up a housemaid job to support their family.
A Plea for Employment
The woman pleaded for a job for her husband at a security guard company. Her desperation to support her family moved the security guard company owner who was not willing otherwise
On this International Women’s Day that is celebrated to forge gender equality , this work place experience lingers in our mind about a woman who is `greater than equal’ than her man in life

The Delivery Person’s Experience
- As Mercury levels are increasing, expecting field activity can be tough for the delivery person we acquainted with.
- When asked about his concerns regarding weather, his reply was intriguing.
- His responded if he was asked about Kochi or his native place in West Bengal.
- On the other hand, he mentioned that for him, Kochi’s weather is more manageable and favourable compared to west Bengal climate.
Insights and Reflection
- The comparative perspective offered by the delivery person is indeed interesting.
- It sheds light on how individuals perceive and adapt to weather conditions based on their geographical location and personal experiences.
Work had taken us to a water front premium apartment developed by a Kochi based business man with diversified business interests in exports, education, real estate etc.
We spotted a yacht docked near to the apartment that belonged to the businessman. When we curiously asked their manager about the yacht, we came to know that for repair services if any, technicians have to fly down from Dubai.
We were taking parking automation solutions to an apartment in Kochi by a three-wheeled light commercial vehicle. The auto driver by mistake took the items to another property of same builder.
He happened to have a brief interaction with the association office bearer of that apartment and identified that they are also looking for similar system and collected their contacts and shared it with us .
He generated a lead for us , a pleasant surprise. We wonder what motivated him to go extra for us, probably because we treat him like a friend.
Safari TV founded by famed Santhosh George Kulangara does not need any introduction in Kerala. In 2013 when they started their Channel ,
a promotional video content created by them has visuals of biometric access control system installation work done by our team at their studio
We have unique experiences at our client places.
We were doing an Automated Parking Boom Barrier to an Apartment Owners Association in Kochi and the system is often installed near to Security Guard Rooms
There are always 2 guards on duty and we remember their Association Secretary assessed one of them as a good one.
While casually engaging with one of the guards we found he owns a flat in Mumbai and his wife a Nurse is still working there and he in a short time will be owning an independent house and about 35 cents of land near to Korratty (Thrissur Dist.),his native place shortly.
We only became more curious to ask then why he is here, he smiles and says if he sits idle at home, cannot expect to earn 450 Rs. daily !

Social development in Kerala is home grown but good amount of economic development can be attributed to NRI remittances.
When we asked one of our Home Segment Customer an HR head in Dubai , where Malayalees are keeping their investments now a days . (she has many of them in her company)
She says Malayalees are saving their tax-free income hoping for a Western Country for their offspring.
She quips Dubai is Malayalees escape route.
Every Year We sent Pongal Greetings. Our very first supplier M/s. Pace Automation Ltd., is from Chennai. Our supplier a global brand ZK Teco , their Chennai Team was supporting us till very recently. We really miss them as presently support is from their Bengaluru Team.
We did LED Parameter Display System for them a custom project and they contacted us through then Kochi Refineries Ltd., (presently BPCL) for whom we did similar one.
In 2024, when we wish Happy Pongal to all our suppliers, customers and friends the project we did for Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd., lingers in our mind.

Our team had put extra efforts for this customer project. It was an in house developed system by our Integrated Design team and we were sending our team from Kochi to Chennai for installation
We had to transport the display point to point to Manali, Chennai and we arranged a Mini Truck through a Lorry Booking Office near Kalamassery.
It was a Tamil Nadu registered truck waiting for a return booking . Our Manoj Ommen Mathew one of our best team members ever was willing to accompany
All the way by truck to Chennai cannot be a pleasure trip, we thank Manoj for it .
The young truck driver from Tamil Nadu won Manoj’s appreciation.
His driving skills were also exceptional like that of long-distance interstate drivers but he skipped his lunch and drove nonstop to reach the store of Chennai Petroleum Corporation before it closes by 4 pm which was unlikely otherwise.
We remember him for this extra effort though it happened in Year 2005.
This post is dedicated to this driver though, he will probably never see this .
With 27 years of standing in industry we had the opportunity to work with very large and prestigious account in the past , out of our 2000 + clients in Kerala we have about 100 boom barriers installations and some are with Apartment Residents Associations.
Ambady Villa Owners’ Association, Chilavaoor, Kochi is our Jan 2024 customer for UHF Integrated Parking Boom Barrier , The Barrier installed after their front gate will open automatically for authorized Vehicles during Entry & Exit . A fast tag like tag is fixed to vehicle that is configured through an application software for this .
We offered a client site visit for them to one our Installation near Kaloor when we relaced two of their existing third party supplied dysfunctional boom barrier with New UHF Integrated Barriers to showcase the system we offered.
Mr. U K Sasidharan their Secretary an Ex NRI and Mr. Pramod Shabi the Treasurer a successful business man spared their half day on a holiday for a site visit . They were patient listeners and sought some clarifications. They also interacted with the security guards present there and did their own assessments.
Finaly, they took a decision in our favor. They extended full cooperation for execution; we completed the work in a very short time and they were very prompt with payments.
It was a pleasant experience working with this Villa Owners Association and we thank them for their business with us.

THOMAS MUTOOT, APT CERAMICS Ltd., CONTESSA CAR & OUR BUSINESS WITH THEM ..
During our initial days in late 90’s . we had less buyers and more rejections.
Our second customer for Attendance System was Muthoot APT ceramics in Cochin Export Processing Zone(presently CSEZ)
We approached their Manger Mr. Shaju Mathew who was friendly and also had a unique bass voice.
He finally put us to their Senior Mr. Thomas Muthoot who was known as Kunju Sir , he was an youngster then , and was using a Contessa car. It was self-driven sometimes though he had a chauffeur always at his disposal.
The car had a unique dual color painting with some alterations and was always identified by security people of CEPZ at first glance.
Our interactions with him still lingers in our mind, he was composed, a good listener, talked less but precisely and preferred to see our Binaini zinc installation personally.
He spared his half day for this and also sought some clarifications with Binani Zinc Time Office & Security Staffs.
As he does not throw his weight around , Binani Zinc security manager was asking him where he belongs to . To our surprise he just said ` Kozhenchery ‘
He took a decision in our favour
He was staying at Panampilly Nagar then and was regular with his morning walks. He spared us a smile and a nod whenever we spotted him there
Today the attendance system is so common, we cannot expect to grab his half day.
But it was a privilege then for us, for being an early bird …
